What constitutes experience in graphic design?
I am a graphic design student who has worked in Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash (and other programs) for at least 5 years. I am quite knowledgeable in programming and web design. Of course I know that there is much more than learning programs, but how freelance evaluate their experience? I work in many of my own projects to increase my knowledge, so I'm not one of these students with their homework in their portfolio. Even if I go to work soon an internship, that seems appropriate experience I 0. I feel I have experience in the design field, but 0 experience with respect to printing and business areas. But it is the main function of graphic designers to communicate visually? I'm trying to get ahead of myself trying to get a job in a better position just does not seem right to say that I 0 exp. I'd appreciate any feedback.
Internships suppose you have little or no experience but an interest. That's what internships are for. Go try it, and be sure to indicate their level of interest and how their studies as far will be good.
